ADE brings dancers, producers and label people to the city for five days in October, and many of them sleep until noon and stay out until dawn. Karina fits herself around that timetable rather than against it, offering the late afternoon and early evening to guests who want an hour before the night begins. She speaks Latvian, Russian and English, which covers a good share of the crowd that travels for the festival. Nuru and body to body are the sessions she is asked for during that week, and she makes plain at the start what hers will include. At twenty-five she is composed and unhurried whatever the hour.

Karina decides which bookings she takes and may decline any of them; she sets the limits for what a session includes, says what they are, and may end a visit at any point, as the terms set out.
