Banks

On King's Day the Jordaan fills with music boats, street stalls and orange crowds from early morning, and Banks treats the afternoon as something to wait out rather than work through. Her bookings on that date begin once the streets thin, usually after eight, when a bicycle can cross the canal bridges again. She speaks French and English, and she moves between them without a pause when a guest's group mixes the two. Tantra and slow oil work are the formats she brings to a festival night, both paced for someone who has been on his feet since noon. At twenty-four she states her limits early and plainly, and they do not move for the date.

Banks decides which bookings she takes and may decline any of them; she sets the limits for what a session includes, says what they are, and may end a visit at any point, as the terms set out.
